A study of the kinetics of the reduction of neptunium(VI) by acetohydroxamic acid in perchloric acid
The kinetics of reduction of NpO2 to NpO2 by acetohydroxamic acid in 1 mol⋅L perchloric acid media at 10 and 22°C were studied. The reaction rate was monitored using stopped-flow and standard infrared spectroscopy. Under conditions such that acetohydroxamic acid was in excess relative to Np, the reduction rate of NpO2 is described by the following:
متن کاملHYDROGEN ADSORPTION ON SILVER CATHODES IN PERCHLORIC ACID SOLUTIONS
In this paper studies of overvoltage and capacitance measurements at silver cathodes in aqueous perchloric acid at room temperature are described. Capacitances were deduced from open-circuit potential decay measurements. The increase of overvoltage and the growth of the measured capacitances in the course of electrolysis are attributed to a growing pseudocapacitance component. This is anal...
متن کاملSpectral Transmittance Characteristics of Holmium Oxide in Perchloric Acid Solution
Accepted: November 28, 1984 The work describes the methods and procedures used to determine the wavelengths of minimum transmittance of holmium oxide in perchloric acid solution. Measurements of spectral transmittance of the solutions were made by means of a high precision spectrophotometer over the wavelength range 200 nm to 680 nm. The wavelength scale accuracy of this instrument was verified...
متن کاملKinetics of Thermal Decomposition of Aqueous Perchloric Acid
Thermal decpmposition of 1.1-6.6 m aqueous perchloric acid at 295-322" yields oxygen, chlorine, and a small quantity of hydrochloric acid. The initial rates of decomposition have been measured, using a perchlorate ion activity electrode, and show 3.5 order dependence on the stoichiometric perchloric acid concentration; the corresponding rate coefficient and activation energy at 300.0" are 3.1 x...
متن کاملHeats of formation of perchloric acid, HClO4, and perchloric anhydride, Cl2O7. Probing the limits of W1 and W2 theory
The heats of formation of HClO4 and Cl2O7 have been determined to chemical accuracy for the first time by means of W1 and W2 theory. These molecules exhibit particularly severe degrees of inner polarization, and as such obtaining a basis-set limit SCF component to the total atomization energy becomes a challenge. (Adding high-exponent d functions to a standard spd basis set has an effect on the...
